Sunday at Bayalpata

I'm happy to report that I've been blessed to encounter two Christians at work here at Bayalpata hospital. The Bayalpata fellowship at this point consists of SP, a Nepali-American who is operations director-Nepal for Nyaya Health Nepal / Possible; Marina, a Nepali medical student, and me. We had a great time Sunday evening enjoying the beauty of Nepal, sharing stories, the bible, prayer and song.

The meeting was indeed a great blessing :) I had never imagined having a fellowship on a hilltop with the majestic scenery. Gave me some to sit back and take in the beauty that surrounded us!

Why I'm in Nepal

I'm working in Achham province, in the northwestern corner of Nepal, as part of a wonderful program called the Richard T Clark Fellowship for World Health. The fellowship, financed by the Merck Company Foundation and named after Merck's former CEO, sends employees to work for 3 months at non-governmental organizations (NGOs) around the world.

I'm part of a team of three Merck employees working at Possible Health, an NGO delivering essential health care to a population of a quarter of a million people living near Sanfe Bagar, Achham province, Nepal.

The background is a picture of Bayalpata Hospital. We're staying in the white building in the upper right of the picture (yes, they're building another story)
