As I was considering the RTC fellowship program, our church decided to encourage its members and friends to read "The Hole in Our Gospel" by Richard Stearns. It's call to live out the "whole gospel" which includes caring enough about the poor to do something, was a major part of my discernment process while considering whether to go to Nepal.
